IATI welcomes new Chair and Vice-Chair of the Governing Board

IATI’s newly elected Governing Board has appointed its new Chair and Vice-Chair. Meeting for the first time at UNDP Headquarters in New York on 28 - 29 April 2022 (and virtually), the Board appointed:

  • Chair: Mr. Henry Asor Nkang from the Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Government of Nigeria as Chair; and
  • Vice-chair: Ms. Thea Schepers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.

This follows the Governing Board election held in February and March, in which seven representatives were elected to serve for a two-year term.

The meeting brought together representatives from both the outgoing and incoming Board to facilitate a smooth handover of responsibilities. Together they focused on key upcoming issues including the current process to secure the hosting arrangements of IATI beyond 2022. The new Governing Board will update members on the outcome of the meeting and minutes will be posted online shortly.

The Board and Secretariat extend sincere thanks to Theo van de Sande from the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs for his commitment and hard work as Chair of the Board over the past four years.
