Submit proposals for Data Use Fund

  • May 30, 2018

The International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) is inviting interested and qualified service providers to submit proposals according to the three open Requests for Proposals (RfPs) under the IATI Data Use Fund.

With one million humanitarian and development activities published to IATI from nearly 800 organisations, IATI’s Data Use Task Fund aims to increase to use of this data to inform decision making and increase accountability.

The first three Requests for Proposals are published on the UNDP Procurement Website and focus on:

Theme 1: IATI Awareness Raising

UNDP/IATI is seeking to contract a service provider, who has the capacity to plan, present and implement an innovative and effective small-scale activity that addresses the key challenge: “there is a lack of awareness regarding the existence of IATI as a source for data among key actors holding governments and development actors accountable. This includes in particular aid/development watchdog organizations, journalists and other media actors, and parliamentarians.”

Theme 3: User-friendly IATI tools

UNDP/IATI is seeking to contract a service provider, who has the capacity to plan, present and implement an innovative and effective small-scale activity that addresses the key challenge: “Develop a set of data use guides/cookbooks based on current tools and addressing specific personas.”

Theme 5: IATI-Aid Information Management Systems Integration

UNDP/IATI is seeking to contract a service provider, who has the capacity to plan, present and implement an innovative and effective small-scale activity that addresses the key challenge: “IATI data is not broadly integrated into national aid management platforms and systems”.

Previous studies and pilots shown that there are still some building blocks missing before integrating IATI data into national systems. The reasons for IATI data not being systematically and/or automatically integrated into national aid management systems, databases and platforms, are numerous but can mostly be associated with technical barriers such as different reporting and/or financial cycles, lack of trust in the reliability of IATI data and technical capacity.

Deadline – 12 June 2018

UNDP and IATI are looking forward to receiving innovative and detailed proposals. The deadline is 12 June 2018. Please do not hesitate to contact us: [email protected] with any questions and suggestions regarding the IATI Data Use Fund and the published RfPs.
